A bit about me...
Having lived in Camden for the past 5 years, I recently relocated to leafy Surrey. It’s impossibly green here in summertime, and being able to step out my door and take a stroll through ancient woodland makes it a pretty inspiring place to live.
As much as I loved the bustle of the capital, I’m a country girl at heart. Growing up on the edge of a small village surrounded by fields and trees taught me to take notice of natural symmetry and the way daylight creates shadows and contours. I always try to use natural lighting as much as possible in my photography.
My very first camera was a Kodak Instamatic borrowed from my Mum for a school trip. I don't think I put the camera down for the entire week, and remember getting through several roles of film. It completely fascinated me that I could capture a single moment in time, print it out and keep it to look back on forever.
Ever since, the idea of capturing ‘real moments’ has always been my mission. And by that I don’t mean the ‘perfect moment’, as that is purely subjective, so doesn’t really exist.
I strive to photograph an instant in time that’s both emotionally charged and reflects the essence of that moment. That’s why I love documentary style wedding photography, as I can allow events to unfold naturally and without any interference, creating ‘real moments’.
